Privacy Policy
Last updated April 27, 2026
The Beacon is a Christian, conservative news briefing that curates links to stories, videos, commentary, and other content from around the web. This policy explains what information we may collect when you visit the site, how we use it, and the choices you may have.
Information You Provide
You can read The Beacon without creating an account. If you contact us by email, we may receive the information you choose to send, such as your name, email address, message, and any story details or source links included in your note. We use that information to respond to corrections, editorial questions, takedown questions, partnership inquiries, privacy requests, or other messages you send us.
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, The Beacon and the services that help operate it may receive basic technical information when you visit, including your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, referring pages, dates and times of visits, and similar log or usage information. We use this information to operate the site, understand readership, improve performance, troubleshoot problems, and protect the site from abuse.
Browser Storage and Preferences
The Beacon may use browser storage, including local storage, to support site features. For example, we may store visited story links in your browser so the site can visually distinguish stories you have already opened. This information is stored on your device and can usually be cleared through your browser settings.
Analytics and Advertising Technology
Public pages may load Google Tag Manager and related analytics tools. These tools help us understand page visits and reader interactions, such as story clicks and archive clicks. The Beacon may also work with advertising technology providers. These services may use cookies, pixels, device identifiers, or similar technologies to measure traffic, prevent abuse, show ads, or evaluate performance.
Google's use of information from sites and apps that use its services is described at Google's partner sites policy. You can also review Google's advertising controls at Google Ad Settings and the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at Google Analytics Opt-out.
Third-Party Links
The Beacon links to third-party publishers, platforms, and services. When you click an outbound story, video, archive, or source link, the privacy practices of that third-party site apply. We are not responsible for the content, security, or privacy practices of sites we do not own or control.
How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information that you provide directly to us. We may share information with service providers that help us operate, secure, analyze, host, or monetize the site. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, to prevent abuse, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Retention and Security
We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no website, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Children's Privacy
The Beacon is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can review and remove it if appropriate.
Your Choices
You can limit cookies or clear local storage through your browser settings. Some browsers and extensions also support Global Privacy Control or similar signals. If applicable law gives you rights to access, correct, delete, or limit use of personal information, you may contact us and we will review the request in accordance with applicable law.
Updates and Contact
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above. Questions about this policy or privacy requests can be sent to editor@thebeacon.report.
